
Dr. Mary Lubungu is a Research Fellow at the Institute. She holds a Ph.D from the University of Hohenheim at the Institute of Agricultural Sciences in the Tropics (Hans-Ruthenberg-Institute), an MSc. in Agricultural and Applied Economics (Specialization-Agricultural Policy Analysis) from the University of Malawi – Bunda College and a BSc. in Agricultural Sciences (Specialization – Agricultural Economics) from the University of Zambia. She has over twelve years of proven work experience in the field of research on agriculture, mainly focusing on the livestock sector and its contribution to poverty reduction among rural households and economic growth. Dr. Lubungu is proficient with Microsoft Office- word, PowerPoint, Excel, SPSS; Stata, NVivo and GIS. Her expertise in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis skills, research design and methods, empirical research methods, project appraisal and implementation in developing countries and development projects contributes to the Institute’s mission to drive impactful and evidence-based agricultural policy research.
