Stephen Kabwe

Outreach Coordinator

Mr. Stephen Kabwe is the Outreach Coordinator and a Senior Researcher at the Institute. In this role, he focuses on building and strengthening relationships between IAPRI and other organizations in Zambia and beyond. His work includes research on value chain development, the impact of climate change on agriculture, and capacity-building activities, particularly for youth in the agricultural sector. With an MSc in Agricultural Economics and over 20 years of experience, Mr. Kabwe has extensive expertise in agricultural policy analysis, outreach, and capacity building. He is skilled in survey design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, impact analysis, proposal writing, and curriculum development. His quantitative analysis skills include working with household survey data using statistical software such as SPSS and Stata. Before his current role, Mr. Kabwe served as a Senior Research Associate and Research Associate II at IAPRI (2013–2018) and acted as Outreach Director (2011–2013). Earlier in his career, he worked as a Research Associate and Research Assistant at the Food Security Research Project, IAPRI’s predecessor, from 2002 to 2011.
