#IAPRI with support from Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and Diakonia Zambia Country Office successfully held its 2nd high-level engagement meeting with Members of Parliament on 19th March, 2026 at Protea hotel in Lusaka.

The engagement meeting focused on highlighting the benefits that may accrue to the agricultural sector once the three agricultural legal reforms are ascended into law and implemented. The three bills are the Food Reserve bill, Agricultural Credits and Warehousing Receipt bill, and Agricultural Marketing Bill. They were successfully passed in Parliament and are waiting for the Presidential ascend.

The meeting brought together key stakeholders who reinforced the discussion with potential benefits through a panel featuring experts from #IAPRI, Zambian Commodities Exchange, Grain Traders Association of Zambia, Zanaco, NASFA, and Kudu Consulting.

From policy insights to practical perspectives, the dialogue reinforced the importance of predictable agricultural legal reforms in strengthening market confidence and supporting Zambia’s agricultural sector.
