Call for Applications - Internship

The Indaba Agriculture Policy Research Institute [IAPRI] is Zambia’s premier agricultural policy research institute established in 2011 to generate evidence and provide agricultural policy recommendations and impact assessment to contribute to sustainable pro-poor agricultural development in Zambia. The Institute seeks to enlist three (3) interns for a 6-month internship starting on 15th November 2017.  

The interns will provide research and outreach support in these thematic areas and will be based at IAPRI’s office in Kabulonga, Lusaka.

Thematic Areas

1. Agricultural Markets and Trade

2. Agricultural Diversification

   - Public Policy and Spending

   - Agricultural Technology and Smallholder Productivity

3. Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition

4. Climate Change and Natural Resources Management

5. Gender and Youth in Agriculture

Minimum Qualifications

Recent Master’s graduates (last three years) or PhD enrolled students from a recognized university program in agricultural economics, environmental and natural resources economics, international environmental science or a related discipline.

Demonstrated ability to conduct research including manipulation of large datasets.

Excellent writing, analytical and communication skills in English.

Expected Attributes

Proficiency in SPSS, STATA or other statistical packages and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to perform geospatial analysis using a Geographic Information System (GIS) or other spatial analysis tools will be an added advantage.
